A few of you asked to see the sketchbook I was carrying around at Pittcon this weekend and scribbling in while sprawled out in the hallway. Mostly gel pens and white pencil, crayons I stole from @winjennster, and even eyeshadow, which I’ve discovered works pretty well as a medium in a black notebook!

I would make my own references. And just use my brother or sister as models. Or whoever was around. And add props or costumes if I needed.

Last year, with the help of the lovely folks at Gishwhes, I was able to donate a highest tier registration to someone on Twitter for the annual GISHWHES scavenger hunt.
This year, instead of donating a registration, I’m donating some art.
If you register for Gishwhes between today (July 13) and the deadline (July 22), you’ll have a chance to win a free portrait of your choice of character from me. All you have to do is reblog this post and register. I’ll pick a name on July 23rd. If I pick your name, show me your Gishwhes receipt (a screenshot of your email or phone that shows the date your registration was confirmed) to prove you joined during these final days, and you get some cool art!
I’m not affiliated with Gishwhes, by the way—just wanted to help since I can’t do the hunt myself, and I think it’s an awesome event for a great cause. :)
